The world's most powerful toolset for vector art and illustrations has been transformed with faster performance — 10 times faster than CS6 — and even more natural ways to create, connecting your desktop and mobile apps with all your creative assets, so you can do your best work anywhere.

What's new

Edit once, update everywhere Assets in Creative Cloud Libraries can now be linked so that when a change is made to an asset, you and your team members have the option of updating it across any Illustrator, Photoshop or InDesign projects where it's used.
Find the perfect image or graphic, fast The new Adobe Stock marketplace lets you find, license and manage royalty-free images and vectors from within Illustrator CC. Select from 40 million assets, save your selection to your Creative Cloud Libraries and then drag it into your project to use.
10x faster zoom, pan and scroll Thanks to a Mercury Performance System boost, you can pan, zoom and scroll more than 10 times faster and more smoothly without slow, stepped changes.
10x greater zoom magnification Zoom into your artwork up to 64,000% (up from 6400%) so you can create and edit with greater precision.
Never lose your work Recover your work if Illustrator crashes and you've forgotten to save. Just relaunch and your file will be restored. Illustrator gives you the option of quickly diagnosing what caused the crash, such as a corrupt font or out-of-date driver or missing plug-in.
Integrated with new Adobe Comp CC Create layouts for print, web or mobile on your iPad. Pull creative assets into Comp from your or your team’s shared Creative Cloud Libraries, and then instantly send your layouts to Illustrator. All your text, images and graphics are live and fully editable.
Use Sketch art in large-format designs Scale Photoshop Sketch drawings up to four times their original size with no loss in quality.

Adobe Illustrator allows a blank space for endless creativity.

Overall using Adobe Illustrator to create graphics is fun and I enjoy the wide array of tools, especially the typeface options and customizations. I benefit most from the typeface options because I personally do a lot of work with type, so I consider that one of the biggest benefits of using Illustrator.

The thing I like best about Adobe Illustrator is the variety of different tools available to you as a user to create graphics. I think once you learn the basics the program is fairly easy to navigate. My favorite part of Adobe Illustrator is how many different typefaces there are within the program, as well as the various ways in which you can arrange type. I love using Illustrator to make very customizable graphics.

My least favorite thing about Adobe Illustrator is how easy it is to mess up the project you are working on because of the sensitivity of some tools. While practicing with line tools and learning keyboard shot cuts helps a lot, it is still difficult in my opinion. I also dislike that there are not any templates, I think that would be helpful to have social media size templates.

Illustrated Perfection - Adobe Illustrator

I use Illustrator for logo design, branding elements, typography tweaks, and print projects. The seamless transition between Adobe products, as well as the multitude of features make this the industry leader.

For vector graphics, logo design, and typography tweaks there is nothing greater than the Adobe Illustrator. The industry leader, and for good reason. Nothing compares to the quality of the tools, and the ease of ability to the Illustrator platform.

Not much. Like any advanced piece of design software, there's a bit of a learning curve. However, there's so much information, documentation, tutorials, samples, etc. out there that you can teach yourself if you're the type that prefers that kind of learning.

I spend more time using Illustrator than I do watching TV or Movies

It's really the industry standard for graphic design. If you want to become a professional then you will need to learn this software. It is not extremely difficult to learn. Using another software not created by Adobe to run graphics may cause unnecessary headaches when delivering files to clients or your internal team.

I love how easy it is to use and to create graphics and logos. Yes, there is a learning curve but if you watch enough videos online or on LinkedIn learning, you can pick up on it very quickly. Each new version always makes thing more simple and more easy. I remember 10 years ago, there were not half of the innovate and simple tools available.

I struggle to keep up to date with new tools and tricks, and to have the time to experiment or work out how things work. You need to do things frequently to remember how to do them. I often just end up relying on the stuff I already know.
